China

A 7.0-degree earthquake hit China’s Sichuan Province on April 20, 2013. I was the first English reporter that my station, International Channel Shanghai, sent to cover the disaster. By the time my cameraman and I arrived, the military was only letting humanitarian aid vehicles go through the single entrance into the quake-hit zone. We had no vehicle, no help and no backup team. The heavy camera, tripod, portable non-linear editing system and our personal luggage made the 20 kilometres hike into the zone impossible. However, nothing could stop me. After begging more than a dozen ambulances to give us a ride, we finally made the trip.

Here are some radio live hits I did with a Chinese radio station in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China.
